Science
At London Meed, Science aims to develop all children’s knowledge, vocabulary and understanding about the world they live in. Science is taught progressively to build a solid subject foundation with a breadth of scientific vocabulary. From EYFS through to Year 6, children learn about the world around them through topics from Materials, Plants, Animals including Humans, to Space and Evolution. In EYFS, children are encouraged to explore their environment and ask questions following their own lines of enquiry. We follow the National Curriculum and underpin it through the skills of Working Scientifically. Children will experience meaningful science lessons, both inside and outside the classroom, where they work scientifically by asking and answering questions and consolidating this with hands-on, practical investigations and experiments.
